Coopers ring head gasket has separate fire rings to seal around the cylinders, but does require very accurate machining of the cylinder block to accept these rings.

This is considered to be the ultimate Cosworth head gasket, and we have used it on many high powered engines, and never suffered a failure of this type of gasket.
