Focus RS Clutch fitment to Focus ST
When the clutch is replaced in the Focus ST, a popular option is to fit the complete standard clutch cover, friction plate, release bearing, slave cylinder assembly and dual-mass flywheel from the similar, but more powerful Focus RS. (All of these parts are genuine Ford Focus RS parts).
This is a preferred alternative to fitting a traditional 'heavy duty' clutch, as the original Ford RS clutch has been found to be more user-friendly in terms of pedal pressure and clutch take up. Uprated clutches can often need significantly more effort to depress the pedal, plus are very harsh when taking up drive. This is not nice on an everyday road car.
